Lauren Meischke

Provisional Psychologist

Lauren is a provisional psychologist with over 15 years’ experience working with individuals, families and children from all walks of life. Including people experiencing the day to day struggles of relationships, parenting and work/life, to those living with the consequences of poverty, disadvantage, trauma and complex trauma. Lauren believes that if people could be living their best life, they would – and she is passionate about helping them get to the life they want to live.

Lauren has extensive experience working with children and young people who display challenging or harmful behaviours and supporting those who care for them. Lauren also has experience working with adults experiencing the symptoms of anxiety and depression, as well as those struggling to understand what has happened to them, and why they do the things they do. Lauren has worked with parents post separation, often where conflict is high – and supported them to make decisions and take action in the best interest of their children, and themselves.

Lauren has worked in senior leadership and management roles in the Not For Profit (NFP) sector, working closely with government and non-government agencies to develop and provide services to various communities across Canberra.

In addition to her psychology qualification, Lauren holds diplomas in Youth Work and Community Services which she believes provides a well-rounded view of the practical and scientific elements of working with people.

Lauren loves music, singing and dancing (as long as no one is watching!), staying fit and healthy and spending time with her family and friends.
